In addition to the prime determinant in endurance running – aerobic capacity – the successful cross-country runner will need to:
- Keep a good rhythm across undulating terrain and over a variety of surfaces
- Clear lactic acid efficiently, as a result of fast starts, hills, and surges
- “Pack run”, or key off teammates and/or competitors
- Finish fast when tired, as team points/total time are paramount
Cross Country training begins in October!
