In addition to the prime determinant in endurance running – aerobic capacity – the successful cross-country runner will need to:
- Keep a good rhythm across undulating terrain and over a variety of surfaces
- Clear lactate efficiently, as a result of fast starts, hills, and surges
- “Pack run”, or key off teammates and/or competitors
- Finish fast when tired, as team points/total time are paramount
Canadian X-C Championships
The Pacers have fielded some of the most successful teams in the province in past years, winning individual and age group team awards in the Canadian X-C Championships 2007-2015.

This year the Ontario Cross Country Championships will be held in St. Catharines in November; The Pacers are targeting this with individual and team entries.
Free Cross Country Training Program for Members
Andrew Jones will be leading a free cross country training program for members beginning in the fall (schedule to be announced).
